KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Land Bhd (BLand) has acquired 40 million ordinary shares representing about 2.28% equity interest in Berjaya Food Bhd (BFood) for RM32mil cash, or 80 sen per share.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, BLand said its wholly owned subsidiary, Nural Enterprise Sdn Bhd had on Oct 14 acquired the shares via a direct business transaction.
“Following the acquisition, BLand and its subsidiaries equity interest in BFood increased from 0.47% to 2.75% comprising a total of about 48.25 million BFood shares,” it said.
BLand said the acquisition was funded from internal funds of the BLand Group and no liability to be assumed by the group arising from the acquisition.
“The acquisition enabled the BLand group to increase its stake in BFood,” it said.
